Sleek new Avis Kiosk at Cape Town International Airport
Avis opens its new state of the art car rental branch at Cape Town International Airport on 27 March 2010. Located in prime position at the new dedicated car rental area, the new branch office will replace the current three kiosks operated around the airport.
Avis regional manager for Western Cape, Riaan Schoeman, says the new Avis airport office is the result of extensive changes to the design of the airport which now includes a purpose built car rental facility with dedicated road, parking and customer service areas, where all car rental operators will transact from. This has enabled Avis to further streamline its service offerings for the various customer segments,” he says, “with the prime positioned Avis outlet being much larger in size to its current kiosk which had served its purpose for the past 10 years”.
The new kiosk is perfectly situated where domestic and international traffic merges after being directed out of the arrival halls to pedestrian “underpass” walkways that ensures customers avoid the crossing of roads and brings the customer directly to the car rental service area.
The new Avis service centre at the Cape Town International Airport, is tastefully decorated with two sweeping counters with 22 terminals to handle all services from Preferred and Express Services to dedicated Paraplegic and Luxury Cars terminals and GPS rentals counter. A dedicated public relations officer will be on hand at all times to redirect traffic and ensure the terminals are used optimally.
The change has also resulted in the expansion of the parking area to incorporate a total of 316 parking bays, which is a 100% increase in capacity. In addition, we have a dedicated vehicle returns facility to conduct our “Rapid Returns” process designed to speed up the vehicle check-in procedure and provide customers with on-the-spot invoices and query handling.
In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, the layout and design of Avis’ new kiosk at Cape Town International is in line with Avis’ promise that “people are more important than cars” as it is aimed at making life easier for harried travellers by ensuring they get from one destination to the next with maximum ease and minimal stress.
